Sea Coast Town

This artwork depicts a quiet coastal town overlooking a calm lake. The visual style was inspired by minimalist landscape illustrations, particularly those found on Dribbble.

To create the curved terrain at the bottom, I arranged a series of rounded rectangles side by side. For the trees, I used teardrop shapes instead of basic triangles. The curvature added a softer and more organic feel to the landscape.

I started the project by setting up a dark blue background. To define the area where the town would be placed, I added a simple white rectangle across the middle of the canvas.

Next, I constructed the basic environment by layering a rectangle for the sky above and another for the lake below, creating a clean horizontal split.

I continued by adding depth to the scene by drawing curved landmasses, shaping trees with teardrops, and building layered terrain with more vector shapes. I placed the sun behind the mountains using a light color to subtly contrast against the sky.

Finally, I designed the shoreline and added buildings to complete the town. The shore was formed with repeating rectangles, while each house followed a modular formula: a roof, front door, windows, and walls. I used a darker shade on the largest house to draw attention and emphasize its place in the design.
